In March, she received some media attention when her name was mentioned as a potential candidate to succeed Hope Hicks in the role of communications director. It's been a nasty fight. Schlapp's allies began fighting with Tony Sayegh on the news. Schlapp stated that, after that the Washington Examiner had published an article with negative comments about Sayegh's character, she called Sayegh to have a private discussion.
